North Shore Herbal School, the partnering of herbalists Hannah Sparks and Iris Weaver, is offering a three-month apprentice program in which students learn how to use herbs safely and effectively. This class is for the serious student looking to begin their herbal path, individuals with an interest in health and healing that want to deepen their knowledge of the healing arts, and individuals looking to learn how to care for their family members by incorporating herbal and natural therapies.
Students will learn in depth uses of over 45 herbs, actions of herbs on body systems, product making, and growing herbs. Each student will graduate the Apprentice Program with a certificate of completion for 33 hours of study and the knowledge and skills to continue on to advanced herbal studies.

- In depth use of over 45 herbs
- Properties and actions of herbs
- Body systems
- Product and medicine making
- Growing, harvesting, drying, and storing herbs
- Ethical wild-crafting techniques
- Plant identification
- Cooking with herbs
NSHS-AP 2015 will meet one weekend per month for three months:
Saturday from 10am – 5pm and Sunday from 10am – 12:30 pm with an herb walk from 1pm – 2:15 pm. Potluck lunch on Saturday and bring your own on Sunday. Tea will be provided.
DATES: Autumn session – September 19, 20. October 17, 18. November 21, 22.
LOCATION: Hannah’s Herbals in West Newbury, MA.
COST: $500.00 per person, plus books and materials
Preregistration by September 5, 2015 including $150.00 deposit is required. Deposit, less $50.00 administration fee, is refundable if notified in writing at least one month prior to start of AP program. Payment plans available; contact for details.
